The Kinetic Energy Dance Company is an audition and invitation-only competitive group that allows dancers to improve their technique, performance skills, and teamwork abilities at a more accelerated and rigorous level. Our company members are a close-knit group of dancers who bond with each other through their love of dance. Please contact email@example.com if you are interested in auditioning for the company. Auditions are typically held in May or June and we accept new members through August of each year.
We have four age groups: Petite Company (ages 5-8), Junior Company (ages 9-11), Teen Company (ages 12-15), and Senior Company (ages 15-18). At competitions, our Petite Company performs a jazz dance, our Junior Company performs a jazz and lyrical dance, and our Teen and Senior Companies performs a jazz, lyrical, and contemporary dance.
There are three optional tap companies that compete as well: Pearls (ages 5-8), Jades (ages 9-12), and Sapphires (ages 13-18).
The entire company also meets weekly to rehearse for their whole company number.
We offer solos, duets, and trios in jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theater.
We typically attend one convention in the winter, one optional solo/duet/trio competition, three group competitions in the spring, and nationals in the summer.
The Kinetic Energy Dance Company has plenty of fun bonding activities that we enjoy throughout the year. Our two most popular events are the Christmas party and the annual lock-in at the studio. We hope you’ll join our KEDC family!
