Calling all dancers ages 5-18! Want to be a part of Poquoson Dance Academy’s competition team? The Kinetic Energy Dance Company is a competitive dance team that allows dancers to improve their technique, performance skills, and teamwork abilities at a more accelerated and rigorous level. We hold annual auditions for the coming season every May and June. Please be on the lookout on our website and social media for more information!

Our company members are a close-knit group of dancers who bond with each other through their love of dance. We look for dancers who radiate this quality. Dancers will be selected based on their past attitudes in class, skill level, ability to take and apply corrections/critiques, and willingness to improve and excel as a dancer, individual, and Kinetic Energy Dance Company member.

Aside from competing at regional and national competitions, our company members enjoy fun events and bonding activities outside of the classroom. Every year, we hold the company Christmas party in December where we exchange gifts, play games, and showcase our group dances to the whole team for the first time. We hold our pre-competition kick-off party in the late winter with food, games, and of course, lots of dance parties! Every younger or new company dancer is assigned to a "big sister" to have a mentor and role model to look up to and to help them navigate being part of the company. Our company dancers participate in community events such as the Poquoson Seafood Festival and Poquoson Christmas Parade. Many of our dancers consider their KEDC teammates to be like family to them. We hope you'll join our family!
